In the moonlight (n°40): sableye
Sableye is first introduced in Gen3. It is a fairly rare pokemon in XY. Sableye's base stats is pretty low, it has only a total base stats of 380, very very low for a fully evolved pokemon. One might ask why it is even worth using. That is, before its dream world ability came out. Sableye got the ability prankster, making any non attack move have a high priority, meaning its statics moves will usually go first. Now it can stall by burning the opponent first using will-o-wisp and recover even with its low defence. It can also taunt to stop the opponent using static moves and foul play to cover up its low offence. Calm mind to raise its special defence ad special attack(you can run either shadow ball or dark pulse if you run calm mind). Its ghost/dark typing also gives it only one weakness and three immunuties.
Its mega form, mega sableye, does about the same role. Though it has a great bulk of 50/125/115. It now gained the ability magic bounce, which bounces back most non damaging moves. Mega sableye proves to be one of the best mega pokemon in stall teams. It can also wall things like mega gallade and mega medicham.
Normal sableye stats:
HP: 50
Attack: 75
Defense: 75
Sp. Atk: 65
Sp. Def: 65
Speed: 50
Mega sableye stats:
HP: 50
Attack: 85
Defense: 125
Sp. Atk: 85
Sp. Def: 115
Speed: 20
How to play them?
Sableye: UU tier. Normal sableye just dropped from OU to UU. It is a good utility pokemon in UU and is one of the best counter to reuniclus. It also has a slight niche in OU. The first move will be will-o-wisp. I halves the opponent's phyisical attack, no physical attacker likes burn in UU except for heracross. As a stall-ish pokemon, it needs recovery moves. Thus, recover on the second move slot. Taunt is a good option on sableye. It shut down some pokemon like forretress and prevents the opponent from using taunt. Foul play or night shade would be used due to the low offensive power of sableye. Calm mind can be used for special defence, it might be hard to set them up, but once setted up, it can be hard to deal with. Either shadow ball or dark pulse should be used with calm mind. Knock off is also an interesting option to run on sableye for removing items. Put all your evs on hp and defence/Sp defence, as defensive stats are much more important to sableye. Try keeping sableye away from switching into decently powerful neutral attacks, as sableye isn't that bulky even if you fully invested in defences. Entry hazards would also help, as a lot of counters hates to sableye hates stealth rock and sableye can block rapid spin. The best item for normal sableye would be leftovers.
Mega sableye: OU tier. Also a great utility pokemon. It is the only magic bounce user that is actually bulky. Prankster still works at the turn you are mega evolving, since he order of the move doesn't change on the turn you are mega evolving your pokemon. It is not always good to mega evolve sableye right away, if prankster will herlp later on, it might be better not to mega evolve it right away. Just like normal sableye, Two of its slots would be will-o-wisp and recover. You can either have knock off and foul play/toxic for utility, or you can have calm mind and shadow ball/dark pulse. Fake out is rarely seen, but if you somehow find a slot for it, it can be ran. The ev would be 252 HP 112 Def 144 SpD for the one without calm mind to handle things like tyranitar, land-t and terrikion. The ev for the ones with calm mind would be 252 HP 252 Def 4 SpD because you would get a lot of special defense by using calm mind already.
Monotype: Both sableye and mega sableye are very good in monotype. Some type does not have access to fairy counters, meaning they will have a hard time dealing with sableye. Mega sableye is extremely useful in ghost monotype, it is the only useful mega evolution in ghost monotype. Its wil-o-wisp helps jellicent take physical hits too. In dark monotype, it can tank fighting type moves, which dark type hates. Most fighting type hates will-o-wisp. The one pokemon that actually appreciate will-o-wisp, conkeldurr, is countered by mega sableye.
How to deal with them:
Fairy type are common counter to them. Pokemon like clefable counters them easily. Some powerful wallbreakers can break past them. Fire types are immune to will-o-wisp. Physical ones like talonflame, mega charizard X beats them easily. Pangoro can break past mega sableye easily, pangoro has the the ability scrappy, making normal and fighting type move hits ghost type for usually effect. Since dark is weak to fighting, fighting type moves from pangoro will be super effective against mega sableye. If not burned, it would kill mega sableye (and normal ones obviously).

Re: In the moonlight (n°40): sableye
That's a pretty good article
Lemme just add that in monotype, you don't always have access to a fairy Pokemon, or a fairy move strong enough to beat Sableye, and the fighting type has a hard time dealing with it. Considering Prankster Sableye burns you before you even hit, and keeps recovering, while Mega-Sableye relies on great bulk, how can you counter both, especially with a type like fighting?
My solution is this: Scrappy Pangoro can hit ghosts with fighting moves, giving Sableye a second weakness. Lum berry saves Pangoro from one burn, and Hammer Arm, with STAB and effectiveness, can OHKO Sableye, mega or not. None of them has ever beaten my Pangoro

Oh yeah, I'll add that. Though isn't superpower the standard fighting STAB on pangoro?

Superpower is bad for bulk I run Hammer Arm for a combo with Payback

And hammer arm is bad for power compare to superpower, but hammer arm does have its use. Though how is pangoro suppose to take two attacks?

Well sometimes it does. Pangoro's HP and Scrafty's defensive stats are equivalent in terms of bulk

Re: In the moonlight (n°40): sableye
252 SpA Life Orb Roserade Sludge Bomb vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Scrafty: 165-196 (60.8 - 72.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Roserade Sludge Bomb vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Pangoro: 247-292 (74.3 - 87.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Close, though scrafty can have defence ev
And stardard one is superpower I think

I don't see hammer arm

Multiply their max hp by their max defense then special defense
I don't trust Superpower

Why would you run bulk on pangoro though...

Because I don't think it's fast enough to work well with a scarf, and if it can't work well with a scarf it can't without, so I don't make it fast. Instead I have things like Payback

Though you wouldn't max defences, you could have max hp but you have to have max attack. Full speed is for outspeeding stuff like 0 ev speed rotom wash

252+ Atk Pangoro Hammer Arm vs. 252 HP / 116 Def Rotom-W: 147-174 (48.3 - 57.2%) -- 91.8% chance to 2HKO
you will get will-o-wisp again if you don't run choice band superpower and max speed and rotom wash will eventually burn and pain split.
By the way, what pokemon do you hate that you rather want me to do.

Choice band? Hm, my target is Sableye, Choice band makes me too vulnerable to Prankster will-o-wisp. My team's check to Rotom-Wash is Conkeldurr, and I also have a taunter.
