Various smaller ideas to improve the PokéForumunity. ♥

Hope it's okay to have stuff outside of the bolded text & description stuff given by default when making a thread here—just so it's easier for me haha! I also hope it's okay to compile all of my current ideas into a master thread here in Forum Ideas, would rather not flood the forum by making too many topics. x'D

Brief description of idea: Removing some unnecessary forums and instead having a master thread for them—as well as moving some others.
Detailed description of idea: Forums such as Friend Codes and Showdown Battles being removed in favour of stickied threads to share Friend Codes or to look for battles—and the Pokémon Showdown! forums being put into the Pokémon Battling forum as sub-forums. Basically, I feel that instead of having Friend Codes and Showdown Battles forums... well, there's not really much need for them! I really feel they'd instead be better as master threads in Pokémon Trading and Battling respectively, but that's just me of course. As for the Pokémon Showdown! forums—I feel they'd be much better off instead as sub-forums in Pokémon Battling, as while Pokémon Showdown!'s a huge and entirely different entity, it's still Pokémon Battling and should be treated as such, in my opinion. As well, the forums aren't too active, there's no need for so many parent forums.

Brief description of idea: The Pokémon Art forum just becoming a general art forum and being put into Off-Topic.
Detailed description of idea: In a nutshell—I would love to share my art here!—but the majority of it is non-Pokémon art, and I only see a forum for Pokémon art. =( I don't have any Pokémon Art from within the last year, haha. As well, it's a lot more lax for artists just to have one master forum for art—and it makes it easier for them to share their art.

Brief description of idea: The Fanfiction & Writing forum, to go with the above—being made as a sub-forum in a non-Pokémon + Pokémon art forum.
Detailed description of idea: While it may sound a little messy—with the above idea being for Pokémon Art becoming a general art forum, this is for the Fanfiction & Writing forum to become a general fanfiction/writing forum, as a sub-forum in said general art forum. I can understand hesitance on this and the above idea, but making both forums sorts of master forums would greatly help the community's activity and would cut down on excess forums that are unneeded.

Brief description of idea: A birthday thread for Off-Topic Discussions.
Detailed description of idea: A smaller suggestion indeed, but an important one in my eyes. The majority of threads in the Off-Topic Discussions forum are just birthday threads! If a thread was made and pinned that focuses on member birthdays, there wouldn't be so many birthday wish threads clogging up the main forum, right? I think it'd greatly benefit the Off-Topic Discussions forum and would help with activity, too.

Brief description of idea: Rule threads for the forums that have none, and revamp current rule threads to be prettier.
Detailed description of idea: I get the whole simplistic thing, but in my opinion a lot of rule threads could use revamping, to be a lot nicer looking, etc—pretty things draw people in and all! Not only that, but some forums are straight-up missing rule threads from what I see, which is not good. D: The forum rules I'm also looking at and I see no reason for them to be in separate threads, why not combine them all into a master thread that looks nice and stuff? People tend to read singular threads at a time, and seeing so many rule threads may be turned off by it, in my opinion having a singular master thread to contain everything would be a lot more aesthetically pleasing, and a lot more convenient to read for both staff/older members referencing it to newer members looking through it for the first time. =)

I'm also curious about the following two things if that's fine;
• Regarding staff activity and stuff, what are the activity requirements? For a smaller forum such as this I do believe activity is 100% necessary, activity to improve is absolutely needed but I do see some that have been inactive for a long time. If you don't mind me asking here, of course. =)
• How come there's no Chit-chat thread in the Off-Topic forum? A pinned thread for anyone to come in and chat, it tends to be the most active as well in most General Off-Topic forums—I do feel PokéForumunity could benefit from one.

we also have a forum game called "last poster wins" where we used to chat in. And for the activity requirements, i don't even know to be honest, i mean the owner of the forum, some helpers, a trial mod are all not active recently so i really don't know... It's just you need to be active to be staff but it's rare for people to drop that position after.
we do have rules for those tho, this is the rules for mods activity "6) Staff Activity:

You are expected to be active, as a member of staff.  As an Administrator or Moderator, we expect you to visit the forum at least once a week--if you are busy, feel free to let us know in this thread so that we know you're still around and doing okay.
Please note that if you are away for around three months or more and we have not heard from you, we will remove you from the staff.  We will also send you a PM letting you now that you were demoted and why--and that if you're ever free to visit again, simply stick around for a few weeks and when we see a bout of returned activity, we'll be happy to add you back to the team (provided we can still use additional staff).

so we should actually remove some staff?
anyways, it's definitely good to see people giving ideas to improve the forum and it's really appreciated.
and @elementar since you are admin so you can probably do what you want about these ideas and i don't think you need knightmare to approve.
and btw elementer, there was one idea from torshade that he probably sent it to you, we should prob actually do something about it XD

Yeah, I overlooked that when viewing the forum, my bad. x'D Regarding the staff thing, I did see that iirc—though I'm a little curious as to why it's three months rather than one month, imo on a smaller forum such as this there should be lots more staff input and lots more staff activity and more attempts at recruiting people. Of course, that's just my opinion but I really feel it's necessary.. would recommend for the admins to go over it, if you guys get the chance. n.n'

the rules were made by an admin who retired so we shall never know why it's three months... I mean 3 months is an extremely long time. And we are recruiting trial mod rn but we really need people so... and we are still attempting in recruiting people, elementar's probably getting more people to recruit people who might recruit people to get recruits who can go recruiting people... so we are kind of doing those things. And you do get some pokedollars if you recruit people if i remember correctly. (my english sux don't judge plz) we will continue doing those things. And for the ideas earlier, if knightmare doesn't come anytime soon then elementar will decide :^)
