Arcadia: Some unexplained stuff
First topic message reminder :
Yeah, if you read one of my comments, us players also fight in battles. Also, the "evs" are widely different in this game. They are Skill Points that are used to power up certain skills.
Say for example, I grew 2 levels, then I would gain 1 skill point to put into a wide variety of skills I currently have. I can deposit the one skill point into the Yggdrasil Pistol skill to get 200x damage, and 200x (equivalent to a 20 base power move) is very weak, since this is the 1st stage of this skill. However, if I level up the skill to max level (5), then the skill will inflict 900x damage (which is equivalent to an 90 base power move).
Be cautious about your skill points though, like Ev's, there is not enough to level up all skills, so use them wisely. However, as you level up to the max, Also, when I level up, only my hp stat goes up, the other stats remain same just to keep gameplay balance.
You can also get new skills when you level up to 50 and 100. (Class change like maplestory did).
About the monster elments, they are not damage modifiers, but instead ability modifiers. Like a monster's potential is to gain 1 ATK for every light element monster on the field.
Did I explain everything?

Urban Metropolis {your gimmicks, jumping across tall buildings, going up and down levels of a tower. Fall of building and die}
For the cave, it could be a continuation of the mountain level and you could enter a cave in the mountain. You go underground and their are bats, an underground lava pit and some of your gimmicks.

Re: Arcadia: All older topics
thanks, you have been a big help, but in order to make my game non-repetetive, what should I put in? I mean something that will want the player to keep playing, have fun, and feel proud of their progression.

Re: Arcadia: All older topics
If the storyline is good enough it should be okay. Are there other characters around you when you do the levels, or are you alone? Maybe try to make something unknown, and make them want to find out. I'm playing Fire Emblem Awakening at the moment, and there are the mysterious characters that you don't know about. It makes you want to find out who they are and keep playing.

How to bond with a monster
Hey guys, I think you are asking yourself "If this is not a pokemon game, then how do we catch the monsters you mentioned?" Well, just to make things short, you catch monsters by obtaining their souls. What I mean by obtaining souls is by beating a certain amount of that monster in order to get rewarded with that specific soul at the end of the level.
For example, if I defeat 20 foxus in a specific level, then I get rewarded with the soul of a Foxu to call out in battle.
In order to get things cleared up, I want to say that:
-you can only get one kind of soul per monster, meaning you cannot get more than two of the same kind of monster.
-If you defeat a certain amount of a fully evolved monster, you will obtain the soul of the first evolutionary stage of that monster
-The soul of the monster will be the same level as you after you complete the level.
Now, here is how the battle system with monsters works.
When you call out your monster, you fuse your soul with the monster's and gain all it's stats besides it's hp. Since humans dont have elements or any kind of potential, we also gain those properties.
Just in case you didnt understand, your stats become the monster's stats and you gain the potential and element of that monster. Effects of the soul last for 1 minute, so use it wisely.

Here is another idea:
Meteor Parks: (gimmicks: going on rides, street lights guiding, avoiding shooting stars)
How does this sound?

Arcadia: The extended storyline
After the three gods created Wonderland, civilization began to flourish in Wonderland as all the monsters could talk and laws were established. However, a ruthless woman named the Queen of Hearts decided to take rule over Wonderland for her own purposes as a dictator. The anarchy caused by the Queen caused madness in Wonderland until a Girl named Alice somehow ended up travelling to this world from a different universe. She gathered 3 friends, The Mad Hatter, March Hare, and the Princess of Hearts to end the Queen's tyrannical reign. When the battle was over, Alice returned to her own universe and Wonderland was put to peace
After a few centuries in Wonderland, the economy flourished even more with the introduction of Technology, Cellphones, Subway trains, pretty much everything you see in this modern era.
So pretty much the game takes place many centuries after the events of Alice in Wonderland to make things long story short.

Arcadia: Chapters
The world is under peril as Ethos conquered Wonderland, but he is coming for Erohi to claim his throne as the new creator. In the Creator's Realm, Ethos meets up with Erohi.
(Demo battle engages and Ethos is beaten by Erohi)
Ethos may have been defeated, but in a last effort, he stabbed Erohi in the heart with a dark blade with a chance to seal him away. Ethos got lucky and did seal him away along with him, waiting for teh chance to take his throne once again.
The scene takes place a decade later where Seungli searches in the Ancard Temple looking for things to make for his potions and sees a glow in the temple. The talisman he sees caught his interest and as soon as he touches it, the talisman bursts with light and a baby appears in the place of the talisman. He decides to take the baby home to take care of him and surprisingly, the baby never whined, pouted, or cried. The next scene shows a slideshow of the many events in Jack's life.
Jack is 15 years old and he goes onto a mysterious pathway that was hidden by bushes.
(Demo level starts as it teaches you how to jump, walk, and attack)
Jack enters the Tayan Graveyard and hears someone crying in the mansion at the end of the graveyard. As he enters the house, he sees that nobody is there, but the crying continues to echo. The doors shut behind him and a girl appears eerily on the staircase. The girl's crying turns into laughter as she is engulfed by a purple aura. Arcadia knew something wasnt right, so he fought her.
(Boss Battle starts)
The girl was defeated and a black blob came out of her body and shriveled away. Arcadia caught her just before she hit the ground. She said thank you to him right before she passed out. Arcadia took her back home to get Seungli to heal her. When she recovered, she told her name was Nari and her house was burnt down by Runeshadows. Seungli thinks that the Runeshadows burnt down her house because they either couldnt repay a debt or they wouldn't join. But nonetheless, he allows Nari to stay here for the night. Seungli exits the room to tell Jack the whole thing about him being the creator that was sealed away by Ethos, so he must train for the next 5 months to learn attacks.

^^ Because we can't come up with that many gimmicks. This whole game sounds like it would be super successful, especially in Japan.

The limited monsters
Hey guys, I realized that I dont have enough levels to place all the monsters in. So should I only have 50 or 75 monsters?
All I know is that I can't exceed over 75 monsters. And probably some of you are going to riot in front of me that I need 151 monsters just like gen 1 pokemon. But if you expect me to place all these monsters in just 25 levels crammed together, then yes, you are crazy, you are a crazy person.

75 sounds good. If you really want 151 then I guess you will just have to add more levels. 50 isn't bad either

Do I really need stats?
hey guys, sorry that I havent been online for a while, I have been busy with learning how to program. But anyway, the main point is do I need stats? I mean, for a platforming game, stats might seem a bit unfitting imo. So I am just going to assign the strengths like this:
Person:
HP: ****
OFF: ****
DEF: *****
MOB (mobility): *****
JUP (jump height): ****
REC (HP Recovery over time): ******
These are the what the stats will look like, but except damage being calculated in integers, it is calculated by the # of hits to kill an opponent that is automatically assigned.
Who say yes I should replace the integer stat system, or no, should I keep it?

I think that if you have a five-star system that affects the amount of hits before a kill is a good way to go.
