How does the shifting work in triple

I haven't play triple much, how does the shifting work in there?

You can shift any Pokémon when it's your turn. You can shift all of them in the one turn if you want.

like does it take the place of another pokemon? And does shifting takes a turn?

Shifting takes a turn for one Pokémon only. It's like a normal switch. If I switch my first Pokémon, another Pokémon will take its place. It will take that Pokémon's turn, but all the other Pokémon will be able to move.
